Why Aussies want Deborah Knight to replace Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair – NOT Ally Langdon – as Nine prepares to announce the new host any day now

Allison Langdon may be the hot favourite to replace Tracy Grimshaw as host of A Current Affair, but it seems Deborah Knight is the people’s choice.

Viewers are calling for the veteran 2GB and Nine News presenter to take over the top job, describing her as ‘professional’, ‘refreshing’ and ‘a natural’.

‘Deb Knight is so breathtaking and professional. Every time she comes on it’s so refreshing,’ one fan wrote on Facebook, responding to a Daily Mail Australia article about rumours Langdon is the frontrunner for the role.

Langdon was absent from the Today show for the sixth day in a row on Thursday, fuelling rumours Nine is about to announce her move from breakfast to prime time.

Industry sources say she is the firm favourite to replace Grimshaw on A Current Affair, but it’s unclear who will be taking her spot on Today.

Nine execs are understood to be trying out different co-anchors with Karl Stefanovic, including former U.S. correspondent Amelia Adams and 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo.

Langdon has not been mentioned on air since the last time she hosted the show, which was on Wednesday, November 2.
