Channel 10 has ANOTHER ratings disaster as reality show The Traitors launches to catastrophic numbers after the failure of The Real Love Boat

Channel 10 has another ratings disaster on its hands.

The premiere of new reality series The Traitors bombed on Sunday night, less than two weeks after dating show The Real Love Boat sank to the bottom of the ocean.

Based on a successful Dutch format, the real-life mystery-adventure drew a miserable 257,000 viewers across the five major cities.

Hosted by actor Roger Corser, The Traitors sees contestants form teams to complete challenging missions and earn a cash prize of up to $250,000.

Meanwhile, traitors lurk amongst them, plotting against the loyal contestants.

Viewers were underwhelmed by Sunday’s series launch, with some finding ‘the traitors’ dressed up in robes and hooded masks unpalatable for dinner-time viewing.

‘What is this cult s**t? I’m scared,’ one tweeted.

Nine won the night overall, largely thanks to The Block, with a 32.9 per cent audience share. Channel Seven placed second with 27.8 per cent of the market.

The ABC came in third with 17.4 per cent, followed by Channel 10 in fourth with an embarrassing 13.8 per cent.

The flop series, hosted by Darren McMullen, later sank to the bottom of the ocean when just 129,000 viewers tuned in for episode two.

Based on the classic ’70s sitcom, the show has been bumped to a later time slot.
