Channel 10 has bumped The Challenge to its least-viewed multichannel 10 Shake as the dud reality series continues its ratings decline.

The network confirmed on Thursday the rest of the season of the show will be aired  on 10 Shake starting next week, with double episodes screening at 8:30pm and 9:30pm.

It’s the latest nail in the coffin for program, which is hosted by non-binary presenter Brihony Dawson.

The Challenge brought in just 257,000 metro viewers when it premiered on November 14 in the prime time slot of 7.30pm.

Ratings plummeted to a mere 136,000 fans in the major centres during its second episode, and has continued to shed viewers ever since.

In response to the waning interest, Channel 10 announced last week that The Challenge would bump the program to a later time slot of 8.30pm starting on Monday.

The network confirmed on Thursday that The Challenge will air the rest of its season exclusively on 10 Shake starting next week, with double episodes screening at 8:30pm and 9:30pm

It also confirmed The Challenge would start airing double episodes, a tactic networks use to speed up the time a failing show is on air.

Ratings continued to plummet on Monday, with the double episodes rating just 96,000 and 72,000 metro viewers respectively

This is the third major flop for the embattled network after reality shows The Real Love Boat and The Traitors tanked earlier this year.

It comes after the network was brutally mocked over its casting selection for the gruelling game show.

But viewers took to social media ahead of the premiere to savage the cast, after Channel 10 spruiked them as  ‘Australia’s most talked-about celebrities’.

‘Australia’s most talked-about celebs? Who are 95% of these people?’ one tweeted.

The cast for the series includes Bachelor rejects like Konrad Bień-Stephen, Megan Marx and Kiki Morris.

It’s been a year of disastrous year of non-starters as Channel 10, including 10 News First: Breakfast, which recently set a new record for the worst rating program in Australian TV history.

One time crowd-pleasers The Project, MasterChef and The Amazing Race Australia have also underperformed for the network.

Channel 10’s failure to attract viewers for its most-hyped shows will inevitably lead to a decline in market value, especially their ad revenue, say insiders.

The Real Love Boat premiered to just 215,000 metro viewers last month.

Based on the 70s sitcom The Love Boat, the dating show eventually sunk in a matter of weeks, with one episode luring a mere 141,000 fans.

The Traitors continued the network's misfortunes. Premiering only two weeks after The Real Boat sank, the real-life mystery adventure managed to draw just 257,000 metro viewers for its debut
