Geordie Shore ‘AXES two legendary stars from the final series due to their past behaviour’

Geordie Shore have reportedly axed legendary show stars Scotty T and Marty McKenna from the final series.

The MTV reality series was said to be scrapped last month after 12 years due to plummeting ratings.

However, the show is returning for a final hurrah – which is currently being filmed – but Marty and Scotty have not been invited to join due to their past behaviour.

It is said that show bosses were not too impressed with Marty’s behaviour when he appeared on E4’s Celebs Go Dating last year – which is made by the same company as Geordie Shore.

While producers feel that Scotty T  – real name Scott Timlin – is too much of a ‘wild child’ and will no longer fit in with the new ‘family vibe’ of the show, which much of the cast now having children.

A source told The Sun: ‘Marty wasn’t asked back as he didn’t behave well while filming Celebs Go Dating last year, which is made by the same production company that makes Geordie Shore.

‘Bosses weren’t impressed by his antics, so decided not to invite him back after the reunion.’

While although Scotty was invited back to the last reunion show, he’ll not be part of the MTV show’s apparent last swansong as he’s too much of a ‘wild child and a party boy’ for the producers.

The insider added of the star: ‘That doesn’t really fit with the show’s new direction, which will have more of a grown-up, family vibe as a lot of the cast have kids now.’

It is said the final series will see the cast head on a group holiday with their children and will no longer be focused on the wild nights out and drunken antics of the ‘crazy days of old’.

MailOnline have contacted representatives of MTV for comment.

Last month it was reported that the MTV reality show – which followed the lives of partying stars such as Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby in Newcastle – has been pulled amid plummeting ratings, The Sun claims.

The series started in 2011 and has produced hosts of celebrities and influencers including Marnie Simpson, Holly Hagan and Sophie Kasaei.

A source told the publication of the axing: ‘MTV chiefs have decided the time has come to call it a day on Geordie Shore.

‘The already commissioned series, which is the show’s 24th, will go ahead with filming kicking off this weekend and the reunion will go ahead as planned later this summer.

‘But once those have been filmed MTV have decided to rest the series and will not be commissioning any more. Think of it as resting the format rather than cancelling it out right.’

The insider added that while it has been one of the most successful runs of all time it hasn’t been the same for a few years so bosses thought it would be the right time.

The source also claimed that the current stars of the show haven’t be told the news of the axing yet and that they are expecting a ‘mixed reaction’ to the latest.

The publication reports that while at the height of its success more than one million people viewed each episode – it is now said to be at around 100,000 viewers.

An official MTV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Geordie Shore has not been cancelled and continues to be one of MTV’s biggest shows. We can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store next season’.

The 24th series will go ahead and so will a second reunion series this summer.

Last April MTV announced that it was producing a first Geordie Shore reunion series that aired in September 2022.

OG cast members including Charlotte, Holly and Sophie returned to screens together, 11 years after the reality show first aired in 2011.
