Hugh Jackman heads to matinee performance of The Music Man after Covid

Hugh Jackman is back to work after recovering from Covid-19 for a second time. 

The 53-year-old stepped out in New York to perform a matinee performance of The Music Man on Sunday. 

The actor looked chic in a brown polo shirt with a black trim worn with navy shorts.

He added a pair of black sneakers to the ensemble and carried a black cotton tote bag. 

Hugh donned a face mask to stay safe, as well as a pair of reflective aviator sunglasses. 

The outing comes after Hugh announced earlier this month that he had tested positive for COVID-19 again, meaning he had to temporarily step away from his Broadway production of The Music Man.

‘I’ve frustratingly tested positive for Covid. Again. My standby, the amazingly talented @maxmclayton will step in for me,’ Jackman said in an Instagram video. 

‘What’s most annoying is I don’t get to see him perform! I’ve said it before, and will say it a million times more… Max and all the standbys, swings and understudies around the world, you are the true heroes of theater,’ he added.

‘You give life to the saying ‘the show must go on” Jackman said, while tagging his co-star Sutton Foster (@suttonlenore) and @musicmanbway.

Jackman added that he was just, ‘frustrated that I won’t get to see him and cheer him on, but I will be cheering you on in my heart, Max.’

‘To everyone, my whole cast of The Music Man, I hate not being there with you, but I’ll be back as soon as I can,’ he added.

Hugh previously tested positive for COVID in December 2021, and had to step aside from The Music Man at that time as well.
