Celebrity chef Dean Edwards new wife Liz soak up the Antigua sun on their honeymoon
Celebrity chef Dean Edwards capped off his magical wedding to wife Liz by enjoying a dream honeymoon in Antigua.
The Lorraine star, 45, stayed at the luxury resorts of Hammock Cove and Verandah Resort & Spa during their ‘perfect’ stay in the Caribbean.
And the couple experienced a ‘bucket list’ moment by swimming with turtles.
Dean says: ‘We fell in love with Antigua on our last holiday here before the pandemic and couldn’t wait to return.
‘The welcome from the Elite Island Resorts teams both at Hammock Cove and Verandah was just wonderful, and it was really special to celebrate our honeymoon with them.’
The couple, who wed during a romantic Bristol church ceremony in April, started their jaunt at Hammock Grove, the boutique five star adults-only all-inclusive resort situated next to Devil’s Bridge National Park.
Their suite featured a wrap-around deck, private infinity-edge plunge pool, customised cocktail bar and a dedicated concierge.
The resort also offers a full spa, water sports, tiered pool, yoga pavilion – plus two restaurants, which Dean naturally took interest in.

The Lighthouse offers fine dining from culinary director and executive chef, Marco Festini Cromer, who has worked at Michelin starred restaurants and leading hotels in Europe.
And the second eaterie, Irina’s Bistro, offers light, more casual fare with regional and craft beers.
Dean says: ‘As a chef myself, I was so excited to try out the deservedly talked about dishes from Chef Marco at Hammock Cove.’
The second resort, the Verandah Resort & Spa, is another all-inclusive favourite containing 180 open plan suites with stunning views.
On site are two white-sand beaches, five restaurants, three pools, including Antigua’s largest free form pool, a spa & fitness centre, a private on-site cinema, plus water sports including kayaking, windsurfing, snorkelling, paddle boarding.
It was at the Verandah the pair swam with wild turtles.
Dean says: ‘We were also lucky enough to swim with turtles which was on my bucket list and has now been ticked off, a memory we’ll remember forever.
‘From our suite with its own plunge pool and bar to the water sports and spa, we feel thoroughly spoiled.’
Liz described the resorts as ‘the perfect place for our honeymoon’ on her Instagram page, in which she showed off the stunning scenes and documented the pair’s boat trips.
Dean’s marriage to Liz was the second time he’d tied the knot, having previously wed first wife Lou, the mother of his 12-year-old daughter Indie.
The former couple are still close as they co-parent Indie, and have holidayed together with their new partners.
Speaking about Indie having step-parents, like Liz, Dean said: ‘I had step-parents growing up and they added a huge amount of joy to my childhood.’
Former digger driver Dean found fame on the 2006 series of MasterChef where he finished runner-up.

After their stay at Hammock Cove, the loved-up couple then moved to Verandah Resort & Spa, another all-inclusive favourite containing 180 open plan suites with stunning views (pictured)

He was inundated with offers following his stint on the BBC1 series, sparking his decision to become a chef full-time which led to a role in BBC2 show Take On The Takeaway, sourcing ingredients for celebrity chefs – including Ken Hom and Jean-Christophe Novelli – to cook with.
He was then offered a cooking spot on This Morning and then Lorraine, where he became the show’s resident chef, and he’s also released a number of his own cookbooks.
