Jimmy Kimmel is currently constructing an oceanside, dream home in the beautiful Hermosa Beach neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The talk show host, 55, purchased the property back in 2017 for around $8 million, and after sitting still for some time, the TV personality has now started building a larger scale home on the site.

The star, who is set to host the upcoming 95th Oscars later this month on March 12, owns additional homes in the City of Angels, such as a modern, Hollywood Hills estate bought back in 2008.

He had previously purchased a duplex also located in Hermosa Beach in 2014 for $2.25 million, but ended up transferring the dead over to his wife, Molly McNearney’s, sister.

The mansion the comedian is building in Hermosa Beach sits snuggly on a high hill that faces the scenic, shimmering ocean views of the Pacific Ocean.

Sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac, the home appears to be a whopping three stories and has plenty of windows to allow natural sunlight to stream through and, most importantly, offer great views of the sea.

The mansion is currently bordered in scaffolding amid its construction, and the roof is also unfinished.

Large, green trees placed on a far corner of the backyard give a bit of privacy, as well as shade during the hot, California days.

A built-in rectangular-shaped swimming pool could be seen in the middle of the backyard, perfect for entertainment and for cooling down in the summer weather.

On the right side of the property, is a smaller two-story structure, which is also surrounded by scaffolding. The cottage-styled home could easily act as a quaint guest house. The roof is already completed, with a few solar panels placed on the top.

The ground surrounding the mansion is currently dry dirt, but will most likely be landscaped with green grass and plants.

Originally purchased in 2017 for around $8 million, the Hermosa Beach home contained four bedrooms and also two bathrooms.

However, with the latest construction on the stunning property, more space appears to be added on, offering plenty of room for his family.

According to Dirt, the listing stated that the property actually has the space for a ‘20,000-square-foot custom mega-mansion.’

The TV personality, who shares two children with wife, Molly McNearney, after tying the knot in 2013, also purchased a separate, smaller Hermosa Beach location in 2004 for nearly $2.2 million, and is only a mere block away from the sandy shores, reported the outlet.

Jimmy shares two other children, daughter Katherine and son Kevin, with his ex-wife, Gina Maddy, until their divorce was finalized in 2002.

While the ocean view mansion is currently being built, the comedian has also been putting his focus on hosting the Oscars for the third time. He had previously hosted the annual ceremony back in 2017, and once again the following year in 2018.

One way he is prepping for Hollywood’s biggest awards show is slimming down, which he admitted to People in an article published earlier Wednesday.

‘I did have a very unfortunate moment where I tried to fit into the tuxedo I wore in 2018 and I didn’t quite make it,’ he revealed to the outlet.

‘I looked a little bit like a homemade sausage, so I have been trying to lose some weight before the Oscars.’

He further explained that one main way he has trimmed down was, ‘getting these little meals in little Tupperware containers delivered to my house every morning.’

‘And I have to say, I never feel more sorry for myself than when everyone else is eating spaghetti and I’m eating some little tacos with no tortillas,’ but jokingly added, ‘I don’t want to show up onstage looking like Cocaine Bear, you know what I’m saying?’

Along with coming up with ideas for the show with his wife, Molly, who is also an executive producer for the 95th Oscars, Jimmy explained that he doesn’t mind adding a bit of ‘improvisation.’

‘I like to go in 75 percent prepared and leave some room for improvisation and reacting to the show as it’s happening,’ and proudly concluded, ‘I’m going to give it 110 percent.’

He also hinted on some of the content that will be included in the live show when talking to Extra, and revealed that he will be mentioning the infamous Oscars slap that took place last year between Will Smith and Chris Rock. ‘It’s got to come up in some way.’

Kimmel told People that, ‘I mean, to be slapped in the face and to stay that cool is something that Chris should be proud of. Chris’s grandchildren, I hope, will still be proud of that when he’s dead and gone.’
