Katherine Ryan is PREGNANT! Comic announces she's expecting her third child

Katherine Ryan has revealed she is pregnant with her third child.

The comedian, 39, admitted she learned she was expecting after trying for the first time while breastfeeding her son Fred, who she welcomed just 13 months ago.

Katherine, who is expecting her second child with her husband civil partner Bobby Kootstra, shared her pregnancy news on the latest episode of her podcast, though remained tight-lipped on how far along she is.

Speaking on her show, she said: ‘You should never tell people your due date. If you never tell them, they can never start hassling you around that time.’

During the show, Katherine had been discussing her guilt over having a babysitter to look after her son Fred while she worked and treated herself to a facial. 

She said: ‘I’ve done the unthinkable today. I have a bunch of chores lined up and I asked Miriam (baby sitter) to come in. I said ‘can you come in? It’s too hot.’ And I have booked a facial at one o’clock through Urban Massage.’

‘I feel really guilty about it. What’s even worse is I’m going to be getting this facial in my kitchen right in front of her face. 

‘What kind of Notting Hill parent is like ‘you look after my child I’m going to do a bunch of work in the morning then right in front of you I’m going to lay on a table and receive a facial while you clean the kitchen around me’.

‘This is not how I was raised. But I just had to do it I’m sorry. I don’t feel well…’

It was then that Katherine announced she was expecting her third child, telling listeners: ‘You guys know I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that. 

‘I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.

‘And I thought ”we’ve got to get the kids out of the way”. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids. I just thought, ”well let’s go for it.”

Explaining that she was still breastfeeding Fred at the time, Katherine admitted she ‘knew she wasn’t ovulating’ because she ‘didn’t have notable dryness.’

‘So one day I’m walking around and I feel, you know, damp. And I felt a little more attractive than usual,’ she added.

She said: ‘I thought, #’well let’s wait and see, let’s track all the things.’

Katherine added that when she ‘forgot about trying’ while touring after suffering two pregnancy losses, but began to suffer from a ‘sharp pain’ which lasted for two to three minutes, which she had while pregnant with her son Fred.

She continued: ‘I thought maybe I’m getting my period. And I didn’t expect to get a period this month as I could because these things have to even themselves out after your first period when you’re breastfeeding.’

‘Soon after, days later I had a positive pregnancy test.’

Katherine is also mother to daughter Violet, 13, who she is fiercely protective of, it is not known who she shares her daughter with.

She had a civil partnership with childhood sweetheart Bobby in December 2019, in a low-key ceremony in Denmark after the pair rekindled their romance.
