Maisie Williams has revealed she became ‘best friends’ with newly-married couple Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker after bonding over their love of Sex Pistols.

The 25-year-old actress was promoting her new mini-series Pistol about the iconic British punk group as she made an appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.

The Game of Thrones star revealed to host Jimmy Fallon that she met the happy couple at the Met Gala, and the trio instantly clicked.

Fallon asked who sat at her table at the fashion event, with Williams revealing the couple were next to her, as she tried to figure out how to break the ice with them.

‘I was on a table with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker,’ Williams revealed, as Fallon said, ‘They’re fun.’

Williams added: ‘I needed to, like, have an in to the conversation, have something to say, something interesting for them to know.’

She realized that the couple’s outfits had been inspired by Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, and was quick to talk to the couple about her upcoming role in the band’s biopic.

She said: ‘So then my thought was, “I’m in a show and Sid and Nancy are in that show. And I’m in it too, and so hi.’

New series Pistols is based on band member Steve Jones’ memoirs and follows the group’s rise to fame.

The Sex Pistols are re-issuing their once-banned 1977 No2 hit God Save The Queen to mark the Platinum Jubilee.

Some 4,000 copies of the punk anthem will be re-released through Virgin, and 1977 copies of the rare A&M version will also be available.

The Danny Boyle directed Pistols is based on the legendary punk band – consisting of John Lydon, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, Paul Cook and Sid Vicious – and their rise to fame in the 1970s.

Louis Partridge will portray bassist Sid, Jacob will star as drummer Paul, Christian has stepped into the role of the band’s first bass guitarist Glen and Toby will play guitarist Steve.

At the time, the country was rocked by widespread strikes which saw rubbish go uncollected in central London during a notorious winter of discontent.

The six-episode series began principal photography in March, with Danny Boyle serving as director and executive producer.

Based on Jones’ 2018 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the supporting cast also includes Sydney Chandler as Chrissie Hynde and Emma Appleton as Nancy Spungen.

Jordan Mooney, real name Pamela Rooke, died in her home town of Seaford surrounded by family on Sunday, April 3.

Elsewhere in the chat, Fallon asked if she ever got ‘star struck’ at the Met Gala, and she admitted she does, ‘but I really try to play it cool and not overdo it.’

She admitted, though, that sometimes, ‘it does not go well,’ adding one time she was backstage at a U2 concert with Bono.

‘Bono was backstage and everyone was gonna go and say hi to Bono and I didn’t wanna be like, “Hi I’m Maisie, I know who you are.” But then I just ended up being like, “Hi I’m Maisie. What’s your name?”‘

‘He was just like, “What are you doing?” I played it way too cool,’ Williams admits.
