‘I said he was a fighter when he was in my stomach’: Nicola Adams and girlfriend Ella Baig introduce their baby boy Taylor as they reflect on his premature birth

Nicola Adams and Ella Baig have revealed they’ve named their newborn son Taylor Nate Adams, as they share the first photo of their baby boy.

The boxer, 39, and her model girlfriend, 24, welcomed their son last month, and on Sunday introduced him in an interview and photoshoot with Hello! Magazine.

Their first family photo sees a proud Nicola beaming at Ella who holds a sleeping Taylor in her lap.

Speaking to the publication, Nicola gushed: ‘My son being born is the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me. I can’t even explain the feeling – I felt this instant love.’

Taylor was born a month prematurely and weighed just 3lb 14oz, with Ella calling him a ‘fighter’.

She explained: ‘I said he was a fighter when he was in my stomach and he’s definitely come out like that. He’s progressing really fast. He’s trying to do things he shouldn’t be able to do yet – like holding his own bottle.’

The couple revealed that they had spent some time choosing Taylor’s name, opting to wait to see if the name suited him first.

Nicola took the time to praise Ella, saying: ‘Seeing Ella’s body change and watching her give birth was amazing. I’m just so proud of her’.

The pair shared the happy news on Instagram last month that they had welcomed their first child alongside a first picture of the baby’s feet, with their hands placed around them.

The couple, who previously revealed that it took four rounds of IVF to get pregnant, wrote about their love for their son.

Model Ella penned: ‘We are so excited to announce to the world that @babyadamsadventures has arrived.

‘The first moment we laid eyes on you we felt an instant love and the strongest bond. We went to the moon and back to get you and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives watching you grow ❤️#babyboy #twomoms #twomums.’

The baby already has its own Instagram account and as well as the first picture, the couple also shared a picture of them in the delivery room.

In May, Ella hit back at trolls after she shared sweet pictures of her baby bump.

The model took to Instagram to post snaps of herself in a grey dress cradling her blossoming bump as she criticised online trolls for their hateful comments about her pregnancy.

In a lengthy caption, Ella said she and her former boxer girlfriend often see comments about how their baby isn’t really theirs because its ‘biologically impossible’.

Ella hit back at the ‘cruel’ trolls, asking why people couldn’t just be happy knowing that their baby will be loved, rather than questioning them for using IVF and a sperm donor.

The couple, who have been together for four years, conceived after their fourth round of IVF, having started their fertility treatment in 2019.
