Peter Andre reverses his Love Island ban on daughter Princess, 15, as he jokes he’ll ‘have to leave the country’ if she enters villa when she’s older

Peter Andre has reversed his ban on his teenage daughter Princess going on Love Island when she’s older.

The singer, 49, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday where he was asked if he would let the 15-year-old enter the villa in a few years.

Pete joked he would ‘have to leave the country’ if Princess ever decided to go on the show as he spoke about his hope for them to pursue different ventures in showbusiness.

He said: ‘I think, look, I say things in jest a lot of the time. I said my daughter was going to be a nun for years and I was secretly joking.

‘What I said to them was, “If you had a choice I’d rather you present Love Island.”

‘I’ve always said that to them. Try to be a presenter. Look at yourself in that way.

‘If they go on it I’ll just leave the country!’

Back in 2019, Pete wrote in his new magazine column about Princess seeing if she would allowed to go on the ITV2 dating show when she is older.

He wrote: ‘She said to me, ‘Would you ever let me go on Love Island?’

‘I said to her, “When they start doing Love Island based on priests and nuns and they’re having their sermons on Sundays you can go on Love Island but until then no chance”.’

Peter recently shared he fears his daughter Princess growing up too fast, admitting: ‘You don’t want to let them go too much, too quick’.

Speaking to The Sun, he explained: ‘It’s hard because you’re so strict as a parent, but as time goes on you start letting the reigns go a little bit. You don’t want to let them go too much too quick.’

He also explained that the likelihood of the blonde teenager doing a reality show like Love Island was definitely off the cards, but he may not have as much say as time goes on.

‘I don’t even know the words Love Island. Those two words don’t go together in my house,’ he jested.

‘Listen, I can say what I want now as she’s only 15. When she gets to 18 I might not have a say.’

Princess and her big brother Junior recently said they ‘100 per cent want to’ follow in their famous parents’ footsteps by going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in the future.

Peter and ex-wife Katie were married from 2005 to 2009 after meeting in the Australian jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004.

Despite Junior starting a music career and his sister still being in school, they recently joked that they ‘came from the jungle’ and hope they will get the chance to be on the hit show.

Junior told Metro: ‘I think we have to do that! To represent! We came from the jungle, didn’t we?’

Princess said of the stint: ‘That’s something I really want to do. It would actually be good to go on there, knowing both our parents were on there, that’s how they met.’

Junior added: ‘And the show’s so amazing, it’s been going on for so long, so to be able to do that would actually be a very big achievement.’
