‘I’m hopeful it might be easier’: Pregnant Kate Ferdinand reveals she is having another C-section after traumatic birth to son Cree

Pregnant Kate Ferdinand has revealed she is having another C-section as she prepares to welcome a baby girl, after she suffered a traumatic birth to son Cree.

The former TOWIE star, 31, who is expecting her second child with husband Rio, is hoping the planned procedure ‘might be easier’ after her last delivery ‘went wrong.’

After welcoming Cree in December 2021, Kate admitted she cried ‘every single day for five weeks’ and struggled with anxiety.

The TV personality married footballer Rio in 2019 and is also step-mum to Rio’s three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11.

Speaking about her C-section on the Motherkind podcast with host Zoe Blaskey, Kate explained: ‘I’m having a C-section because I had to have an emergency one last time, and that’s OK.’

She continued: ‘Last time, I had an emergency C-section, and I had all the way pushing and then it went wrong.

‘I’ve kind of had both births [already]… I think I know what I’m doing and I’m hopeful that it might be easier.’

Last year, Kate spoke candidly in an interview with Fabulous magazine and said she ‘struggled’ with a lot of anxiety after Cree’s birth.

As she reflected on her time at home, Kate told the publication: ‘I think I cried every single day for about five weeks.

‘You expect to be doing everything you possibly can for your baby and when you can’t… It was something I really struggled with.

‘I was in my own little world, I felt really confused and had lots of anxiety and I didn’t think anyone understood.’

Kate added that she was ‘all over the place emotionally’ because she struggled with daily tasks such as putting on clothes, and would need to call out for help if she dropped an item like a phone because she couldn’t pick it up herself.

It comes after Kate showed off her blossoming baby bump in a mirror selfie on Instagram on Thursday night.

In the caption, the television personality admitted she is ‘bloody knackered’ as she juggles motherhood with her pregnancy.

Kate wrote: ‘Hey baby girl. This little one is taking all of mummy’s energy, but I know that means she’s growing nicely isn’t it funny how your perspective changes after loss?

‘Bloody knackered, but extremely grateful.’

Kate looked gorgeous in a black figure-hugging dress which showcased her pregnancy curves.
