Development on Magic Mike’s Last Dance was initially confirmed in November last year.

The first Magic Mike movie, which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and starred performers such as Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello, premiered in 2012.

The film was met with much critical praise and performed well at the box office.

A sequel, entitled Magic Mike XXL, was subsequently released to the public in 2015.

The movie received a generally positive critical response and was also a hit with audiences.

A TV series, Finding Magic Mike, then debuted last year and was followed up by the Magic Mike Live show, which premiered in Las Vegas.

Director Steven told Deadline that watching the stage show inspired him to return to work on a third instalment of the film series.

He said: ‘As soon as I saw what Channing, Reid, and the Magic Mike choreographic team did with the live show, I said, “We have to make another movie.” Mike Lane’s dream of connecting people through dance must be realised.’

Channing also issued a statement to express his enthusiasm for the new project.

‘There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same,’ he stated.

Thandiwe Newton was originally cast in an unspecified role, although she was later replaced by Salma.

The Sun subsequently revealed that the actress, 49, had left the project following an alleged on-set fight with Tatum.

According to the media outlet, the former co-stars blew up over their views regarding Will Smith’s Oscars slap.

Sources stated that 11 days’ worth of scenes had to be reshot due to the actress’ abrupt departure from the project.

The lead actor was said to have returned to the United States following the altercation, and Thandiwe’s role was soon recast.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance is currently scheduled to premiere on February 10, 2023.
