The X Factor's Ben Haenow hints he and wife Jessica could welcome another baby next year

Ben Haenow has spoken out about his life as a ‘stay-at-home dad’ after welcoming a baby boy with his wife Jessica last year, admitting another one could be on the way soon.

The X Factor 2014 winner, 37, launched a music career after the show with a £1million record deal, and he and Jessica announced in November 2020 that they were expecting their first child together.

And Ben says he loves his role as a father but admits it can be hard work at times, telling The Sun: ‘I do a lot of staying at home with the baby, so I’m like a stay-at-home dad which is lovely but a lot of work goes into looking after him.

Adding of his role as a father, he said: ‘Some parts are easier than I thought they’d be, and some parts are more stressful.’

The pop star went on to say he and Jessica have spoken about having another baby as soon as next year. 

He said: ‘We’ve got just the one for now, but we’re maybe thinking about having another one next year but one is a handful enough for the time being.’

Ben and Jessica announced they were expecting in November 2020, with the singer taking to Instagram to break the news to fans.

Sharing an image of a scan, Ben wrote: ‘So me and my beautiful wife have been working on a new release for next year @j_amy_haenow and I made this new little beat together! It’s a stonker!!  

‘By far the best thing I’ve done ever and we couldn’t be more excited #familyiseverything #overthemoon #mybaby.’

Ben tied the knot with his long-term love Jessica in an intimate ceremony in Northern Italy in 2017. 

He told MailOnline the day was all he dreamed of, joking: ‘I cried so many tears of joy, I needed a snorkel.’  

Ben revealed it was in fact his ‘Nonna’ [nan] Rita who effectively performed the ceremony as she translated to the English guests, which made it all the more special.

He said: ‘We got married in a small town in Northern Italy, where my nan grew up, near the river Brenta.

‘We had a small ceremony of closest friends and family. I arrived nervous and excited for the biggest day of my life and left with the wife of my dreams after a fairytale wedding.  

‘This is the beginning of our happy ever after.’

The couple have been together for 12 years and Ben popped the question in November 2016.
