Wendy Williams’ only child has been evicted from his luxury $2million Miami apartment and hit with a lawsuit for $70,000 in back rent that she can no longer pay for him allegedly due to medical and legal reasons.

Kevin, 22, was hit with the lawsuit in February this year. It came after Wendy had health issues which led to the court being put in charge of her finances after her Wells Fargo accounts were frozen in January.

According to the US Sun, the eviction suit was filed in August and has a copy of Kevin Jr’s lease, showing Wendy had paid a security deposit, other fees and a full year of rent in advance- more than $100,000.

The lease started in March 2021 and ended in February this year. After it had passed, Kevin agreed to continue to rent the apartment on a monthly basis.

As it came to the end of the lease, Wendy had some health issues which led to the court being put in charge of her finances after her Wells Fargo accounts were frozen in January.

This was around the time that the overdue rent began to pile up. Wendy’s accounts had been frozen by Wells Fargo in January because there were concerns she was ‘of unsound mind.’

Her bank also suspected ‘financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence’ and she was placed in a financial guardianship.

Speaking to the court, her 22-year-old son explained in his filing that his mother had rented the apartment for him.

He explained because of her health issues, all of the financial support he received from her stopped, including his housing.

He is currently a full-time student but had taken a year out of school because of COVID and looking after Wendy.

He had also told the court the situation spiraled very quickly and unexpectedly and he did not know things would end up how they did.

Kevin added he would be moving out of the apartment on September 7. Wendy had been reportedly making $10million a year, or $55,000 an episode, for The Wendy Williams Show

The star suffered a number of health issues including Graves’ disease, lymphedema and substance abuse and missed the entirety of her final season of The Wendy Williams Show.

It was announced earlier this summer by her production company Debmar-Mercury her show was going to be officially canceled.

Her time slot was allocated to former guest host Sherri Shepherd. Although Wendy had previously said she was launching a podcast, it is unclear if any episodes have yet been filmed.

Sources alleged that Wendy spent two months in rehab in August in California being treated for severe alcoholism.

She had a number of public incidents involving alcohol abuse before she checked into rehab.

An insider had told the US Sun that she never wanted to stop drinking and the people around her in New York allowed her to keep going.

In a statement to E! News when she returned home, her publicist Shawn Zanotti said: ‘Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects.

Zanotti continued: ‘She wants to say, ‘thank you to my fans for your love, support and many prayers, I am back and better than ever.”

Zanotti said to The Sun that Williams had entered a ‘wellness facility’ in an effort to ‘manage her overall health issues.’

She was ‘being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world,’ Zanotti said at the time, adding that Williams was preparing ‘for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast.’

No details about the facility or its location were revealed. Williams has been in treatment at locations in New York and Florida in the past.

At the time, a source told Page Six that Williams’ substance issues had ‘gotten worse,’ as ‘she went from [drinking] wine to straight up vodka.’

Williams has had difficulties controlling her drinking, to the detriment of her overall health, which one source described as ‘failing.

They added: ‘She can’t stop drinking and she needs to stop drinking; it’s just making her health worse.’

Sources told Page Six that the production company for her one-time series, Debmar-Mercury, ‘refused’ to assist in the effort to get Williams help amid her issues. The source said, ‘They turned their backs on her,’ and ‘had too much control over someone so vulnerable.’

After Wendy was placed under financial guardianship, her ex husband Kevin Hunter Sr was also impacted.

He last week claimed that he could face foreclosure if his alimony payments did not resume.

His alimony payments had been agreed as part of their divorce and suddenly stopped in February 2022.

Her ex-husband asked that the court make an order for Wendy’s guardian to continue making the payments under the MSA and Severance Agreement.

He had been fully depending on the payments to live and has fallen behind on most of his bills.

Kevin told the court in his filing: ‘I currently live in a community that requires payments to the homeowners association and I’m behind on that bill.

‘If the homeowners association fees are not paid foreclosure will soon follow.’

But Wendy’s attorney had filed that the star had not had income from The Wendy Williams Show since October 2021 and pushed back on her ex’s demand for payment.

Her attorney wrote: ‘On October 15, 2021, the plaintiff was informed by Talk WW that her contract was being suspended and that no compensation shall accrue or be payable to plaintiff for the duration of plaintiff’s disability and incapacity.’

They continued that: ‘she presently has no other television show being aired and paying her any income, let alone an equivalent salary.’

Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter, 50, told the outlet that ‘Debmar would not support Wendy’s recovery efforts with the family,’ as ‘they would not sign off on anything that would’ve helped her recovery efforts.’

Hunter told the outlet about a meeting between reps with the company and Williams’ relatives in which they spoke about her drinking.

‘They sat in a meeting with her whole family, including her now-deceased mom, and would not sign off on the recovery efforts that would’ve helped Wendy also get well and live and be sober,’ Hunter said. ‘They basically said, ‘If you don’t stop drinking, you’re going to lose the show.”

An insider told the outlet in August that ‘things are really off’ for Williams, who was saying last month that she was married to a NYPD officer.

‘It’s not the same Wendy … she’s regressed like crazy and her family in Florida is very worried for her,’ a source told Page Six in August.

Wendy Williams looks confused as she exits her Apartment building in NYC on August 8

She previously sparked concern when she was seen with a slim waist, attempting to leave a building in NYC before deciding to turn back on herself, after being unsure of the vehicle that she was meant to be travelling in.

‘I look 30,’ she told photographers after walking to her car, but then suddenly paused and turned around, stepping away from the vehicle.

In another video clip obtained by The Sun she is heard referencing her money woes: ‘Well, my American Express is broken, so I gotta take care of that.’

The comment echoed a remark she made to Hollywood Unlocked host Jason Lee that her American Express card does not work.

Earlier this year she also accused her former manager Bernie Young of using her ‘American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against’ her amid her legal battle over control of her finances.
